Another hour of daylight has been bestowed upon us and the mood of the nation seems to have lifted.
So the question is, what are you going to do with these extra 60mins of sunshine(ish). Yes the beer garden is an attractive option but still a trifle chilly. May I suggest having a spring clean of your archives and a bit of a clear out.
Before you grab black bin bags and start stuffing them with last years accounts, let me give you our top 10 archiving pointers.
1. know what you can shred and what you need to keep
2. Index the contents of your boxes
3. Clearly mark your boxes
4. Put destruction dates on the outside of the boxes
5. Look at where you keep the boxes and ask yourself is that the best utilisation of space
6. Put your shredding in destruction sacks (supplied by us)
7. Use decent archive boxes (supplied by us)
8. Call us to collect your shredding sacks
9. Ask us if you are unsure about any aspect of archiving
10. Done the above? Good, now you can go to the beer garden.
Using this time to sort your archive will give you a feeling of having had a good clear out and a fresh starting point. You never know, you may stumble over a file or box you'd been looking for.
