Lotto vs Document Storage - same thing isn't it?

There are some in this world that will always say "well it will never happen to me".

In the world of data and document storage this phrase is often heard but rarely learnt from.  If you but a lottery ticket every week and have that little thought in the back of your mind of, well it could be me, someone has to win....., you have decided that fate may smile on you.

And you and fate being bezzie mates, it would never cause you to suffer a data loss would it.

This is where the double standard comes in, you have the lottery ticket at home because you might win but you haven't taken steps to protect your documents and data because it won't be you who has the issue.

Right? - Wrong!

You can gamble with a lottery ticket, it only costs £1

Gamble with the security and protection of your data, it could cost you your business.

Now don't think that this is all doom and gloom, I hope you win (after me of course!) but in the meantime before we start looking through the Aston Martin brochure, have a look at your data and ask yourself, is it secure.

Your business data is what helps you generate income and build your business, far apart from regulatory compliance regarding the retention of data. If you lost your client database and all your accounts records, would you be efficiently running the next day? Probably not.

But don't worry, you have that lottery ticket in the kitchen drawer and Saturday's a rollover!
