So it seems that at least half the nation wait for just one day in the year to profess their love for their significant other. The sight of drippy couples suffering from star crossed lovers syndrome, as they hold hands but continue to attempt to cut meat one handed, is always funny. Or the couple that are just going through the motions, sit in silence and imagine driving forks into each others eyeballs or wishing they would choke on that peice of steak.
There will be some getting together and some falling apart, proposals and rejections and of course the obligatory £50 for bunch of reds. What a bargain the 14th is.
For those regular readers of the blog, you may be thinking how is this going to link to business, well just like a slick waiter at tonights overpriced meal, it slides in about now.
Love = Backup
Do you love your business, I mean do you really luuuurrrvvve it? If you did you would show it some loving every day. Protect it, wrap it up in cotton wool and whisper sweet nothings in it's ear and profess that you couldn't possibly live without it. All the above is true, you can't live without your business data and the money it generates. Not only does it pay you and your staff, it enables you to get those expensive choccies on the way home as you forgot again didn't you??
If you don't backup your archive on a nightly basis and your beloved data leaves you, never to return, gone to the arms of another and beyond winning back, well you'll have more than a broken heart and shattered dreams to contend with.
So love your data, show it you value it above all others, shower it will affection and occasionally take it for a dirty weekend with and IT specialist to get the fires of passion running of full.
Like a good relationship you should value and love your data every day, don't wait for one day in the year, because one day you will have assumed all is well and when you return a few weeks later, it'll be..........gone.
So get your glad rags on, pick up a nice little data tape on the way back, confirm the time and show your data how much you love it by making an exact copy you can always keep with you.
If your data's up for it you could "swing" it to us and we will place it in a data case and keep it out of sight until you want it again. Just tell your original data what your doing, it will be worse if they find out!
