Today we seem to be awash with experts in that, consultants in this and coaches by the, well coach load. Everyone seems to cover every aspect of your business and can make you a millionaire by next Wednesday at the latest.
If this is the case, why isn't my road, nose to tail with Aston Martins instead of Ford's?
The upshot is that consultants et al may have a broad skill set, they may offer a multitude of services but heed caution as there is the danger of spreading yourself too thin.
I have relationships with a select number of coaches, consultants etc and the reason that the list is select is that they have a core focus and deliver excellent results in their field. They are time served experts not Jacks of all trades and this is what people need.
If an expert wants to help you with the financial aspect of your business but also offers advise on your begonias and hip replacements, run, run for the hills.

At this rate coaches will be coaching each other, we'll all be trainers expert in everything and we will all collapse in on ourselves like a black hole
If you want straight forward, simple and relevant advise, speak to an expert who does one thing, chances are they will do that one thing very well.
