Data tapes and back up crumbs

I often find in the course of my conversation with businesses that liability seems to rest heavy on them. In particular with the poor individual who's responsibility it is to take the company back up tape home every night.

Firstly the tape will likely be slung in a briefcase / handbag and instantly be assulted my remnants of lunch, lipstick, biccie crumbs, old staples and the like, sound familiar??

Secondly, the individual has to keep the tape safe, as it is fair to assume that as you have taken the trouble to back it up and take it off site; it's valuable to you, contains sensitive data and the competition would love to get their hands on it. So short of strapping it to your body, you have to keep it in safe hands. Good.

So on the way home you nip to the supermarket and leave the bag / case containing the tape on the seat of the car. Return with your trolly half an hour later to find that some opportunist little toe rag has made off with it. Ahh. Or you could try the civil servant route and leave it on the seat of the train, taxi or tube.

Whatever the scenario, you can bet your bottom dollar that at some point the law of averages will kick in and whip that tape away from you.

We are all absent minded from time to time and the nightly responsibility of carrying the company secrets may not seem like a burden but wait until you loose them!

There is a very simple alternative.

Using a data management company absolves you of the responsibility of looking after the data. We can collect from you on a daily, weekly, monthly or whatever suits basis and the tapes will live in a high dependancy media vault or in 2 hours fire rated data safes.

Delivery and collection will be done in a liveried vehicle which is GPS tracked and comes complete with a uniformed driver.

Loose the burden and gain peace of mind that you data is safe and secure.
