What value do you put on your business?
Most of us who own a business would say that they are protective. You value your clients and use all methods to ensure they are not tempted away to the competition. Your accounts are a mystery known only to you and your most trusted accountant. Even your suppliers and rates are a closely guarded secret. In short, you would do anything to maintain your business that you have grown and cared for and are rightly proud of.
Now imagine if you will the following scenario......
Monday morning you arrive at your office to find that your hard drive with all the company data, I mean everything has gone bang. After it want bang, it started a fire which got into your filing cabinets and all your carefully filed paperwork resembles the remnants of a fire grate. And wost of all, your golf trophy from the Rotaty Invitational 1996 has melted beyond recognition. And the carpet is going to have to go as the fire brigade have dumped a monsoon on it.
But don't worry because you had everything backed up and archived didn't you? Didn't you? Tell me you did.
Oh dear.
We have a saying in our business and that is "We can't store what you haven't got".
Turn back the clock 6 months and do you remember that nice chap from the archiving company Safebox that called you and offered you off site archiving from as little as under 50p per box per month, yes? Good, take out his card and take him up on it.
Document and data archiving costs a lot less than you think. The storage of a box for a whole month is peanuts compared to a lost business. It's less than half of the cost of a cup of coffee? Imagine the cost of a morning bagel from your favourite vendor, that could pay for an archive box.
Now let me ask you again, what value do you put on your business?
